Tamara Jolee Metcalfe is a two-time Associated Press Broadcasters award-winning journalist, communications and media consultant, developmental book editor and founder of Tamara Jolee Ministries.

A Dallas-area native (Duncanville/Midlothian), Tamara has spent more than 20 years telling stories across news, sports, business, faith and human interest platforms. She has worked as a reporter, morning show host and evening news anchor with ABC, NBC and Time Warner Sports affiliates, covering presidential elections, professional sports, natural disasters, major crime stories and everyday people whose lives reveal resilience and courage.

Tamara's reporting has earned multiple honors, including recognition for continuing coverage of an international baby murder case and a season-long Friday Night Lights series highlighting hidden stories in small-town Texas. The football features later appeared at the Texas Sports Hall of Fame in Waco.

Before launching her own media and communications business, Tamara spent a decade covering the NBA's Dallas Mavericks. She first reported on the team as a journalist, then moved in-house as a community reporter, championing coverage of the organization's business initiatives, community partnerships, player events and the people behind the franchise. She also served on the Mavs' culture committee and earned the 2023 DEI Award for her department. Prior to the Mavs, Tamara served in athletic media relations roles at three major Division I universities, covering some of the biggest programs in college athletics.

Today, Tamara's business splits into two lanes. The first is communications and consulting. She partners with leaders, founders, government officials, authors, brands and ministries to write thought leadership stories, long-form features, press releases, executive storytelling and brand messaging. She has published hundreds of articles and is a Forbes Council ghostwriter. In addition, she currently serves as the editor-in-chief with a national industry magazine and writes with a major New York City media agency.

The second lane centers on books. Tamara is a developmental editor and book coach across business books, coffee table books, Christian books, memoirs and devotionals, guiding authors from concept through completion. She manages full-scale publication for her clients as well, coordinating with designers and editors to bring each project from manuscript to print.

Tamara is a cancer survivor, Bible teacher and humanitarian. After spending months in Malawi, Africa, and seeing the needs of orphans and widows firsthand, she committed herself to advocacy in underserved nations. She has traveled to more than 40 countries and continues to build work centered on truth, purpose and a love for God's people everywhere. Tamara calls Texas home, but she has spent the last three years traveling the globe, living on islands and in small villages. She is the proud aunt to four nieces and nephews.
